"I think it's for the best," he admits with a slight nod, shifting his weight on his feet. "I don't know the full scope of what he owed your family, but I assure you I honor my debts. No loose strings. Whatever it is, I'll take care of it." And quickly. This isn't the family to have bad blood with.

"Well, someone had to do something decent for the Snart name and it certainly wasn't going to be him." Honestly, with the experience he had as an officer, Lewis' mistakes on the other side of the line were egregious errors, unforgivable in Leonard's eyes.

Is it strange he sees both? She still has something of the innocent kid he remembers in her, but she's all grown up and head of a mob now-- and Leonard isn't so blinded by his memories of her when they were younger that he can't see her for the threat she is today.

"Work for me."

Her words don't leave room for argument, but Leonard finds a way to squeeze it in anyway. He thought this would be a one and done deal. Trade in a favor, cash out a debt, and it's over. Just shows how very different their personal brands of criminal activity really are. She's practically networking, here.

Leonard cants his head slightly to one side, considering her words like they may have been meant as a request rather than the demand they clearly are. "Two things," he starts counting off on his fingers with one hand in the air. "Number one: What kind of work are we talking about, here? I don't sign any dotted lines without reading the fine print." And he doesn't care that he's being brazen against the newly crowned mob queen, or that he probably doesn't have room to make demands in the matter.

"Number two--" the pause is partially for the dramatic effect and partially to emphasize how serious he actually is about this next point. "this is a non-negotiable part of my conditions. See, I'm kind of part of a package deal these days..." He takes a few, careful steps forward, "You take me, you take my partner," his hands motion to himself and a third party that isn't present. "You don't take my partner," both hands sweep out in front of him in a 'you're finished' sort of manner. "No deal."

Mick had barely managed to keep himself from trying to stow away in Leonard's luggage for this trip, for crying out loud. Snowball's chance in Hell that he would go for Leonard being in Gotham, of all places, alone, for potentially weeks or even months. He'd sooner raze Falcone and all her knights to the ground first.

Leonard had barely known Mick the last time he was in this city, the fact she knew the exact name to pull out just makes his jaw set in a tight line. She did her homework, and he's not sure how to feel about that.

Great. So he's going to be a knick-knack collector for the mob. Good to know more or less what he's getting into, he supposes. He seems unphased when she tells him that much, at least.

But that isn't true at all when she speaks about another Snart left to do the bidding required of the family. He snaps forward dangerously, his words more of a growl, "Leave my sister. Out of this."
